New look, new activities – more involvement

As January in real Bucharest is a month with little charm, we thought about twisting the reality into exactly the opposite: in Virtual Bucharest the summer is ON, with a refreshing swimming pool, sun loungers, showers, palm trees and an open air disco-club.

The fun of virtual worlds is that you can play with the reality in various ways, either accurately reflecting(enhancing) it – as we did in December with the street lights and snow – or turning it into something which is impossible in real life. Such as summer in January in Bucharest.  Only in Second Life!

January marks also the starting of the building/scripting school for Romanian users. Experienced volunteers are teaching small groups of new users the principles of scripting and building on the Second Life platform. Some of them have made incredible progress after only few hours of courses.

The Romanian Atheneum is now open, kick-starting with a special exhibit of photos from old Bucharest, a collection of over 40 images to recall the times of “Little Paris”. It’s a great way to think back to the past, to compare what has been dramatically changed and what has actually remained the same. The photos have been grouped also in a 3D photo album, to be taken away by the visitors.

And last but not least the traffic data for the entire December month. We had a lot of parties and special events aso we closed the month with an average trafic of 16.500 per day, or 115.500 per week, as shown in the table below.

Rogalski & Grigoriu joins the “club”

The recently awarded PR Agency of the Year, Rogalski & Grigoriu is one of the first companies that reacted to our message and offered to help us to promote this project.

Eliza Rogalski, the managing partner of the agency, shares with us the same enthusiasm; yesterday we had a very pleasant conversation and found a lot of common ground to build on this innitiative.

As this project aims to bring together organizations and people who think and want to do something for Romania, we welcome the partnership with Rogalski & Grigoriu PR and look forward to work together.
